So earlier in the week I said I would share more recipes, so when I was making my favourite snack today...I thought I would share it. This is in my eyes, is the perfect steak sandwich and it is very easy to make. The ingredients you will need are as follows:
-A piece of steak, I use rump but you can use what ever cut you prefer. Although I'd say a more expensive cut works better.
-Butter
-1 clove of garlic
-Red onion, a small portion
-Salt & Pepper
-Coriander
-A handful of nachos and a dip if you would like
All you have to do is:
-Finely chop your red onion in to thin slices.
-Peel your garlic clove and crush with the back of your knife.
-Pre-heat your oven to 220 degrees
-Put a pan on to a hot heat and add your nob of butter.
-Add your garlic and onion.
-Add your steak, season with salt and pepper and seal on all sides.
-Add a tiny amount of sugar to your onion and pop the whole pan in the oven.
-Depending on how you want your steak cooked, alter the time necessary. I like my steak quite rare to medium rare and I leave mine in for 6-8 minutes. I would say 12-15 for medium and longer for well done.
-Take your steak out of the oven and leave to rest.
-Pop some toast in, butter and then with the remaining garlic, rub it in to one side of your toast.
-Cut your steak at an angle and makes slices.
-Pop on to your toast, then add the onion and some coriander, you could use chilli if you want some heat.
-Seal with your other toast, cut in to triangles and add your nachos to your plate with a spoonful of dip and dig in!
I'm giving a nod to my brother-in-law for the reasoning behind popping your steak in the oven to finish it off, it makes your meat so tender instead of tough. Also you could add cheese or a chutney, or even use a more rustic bread.
Enjoy!

This looks beautiful. Even better with a nice chunk of cheese. Your food always looks delicious, I wish I was a better (more enthusiastic) cook x
