Varied Hue

"The summer-flower has run to seed,

And yellow is the woodland bough;

And every leaf of bush and weed

Is tipt with autumn’s pencil now.

And I do love the varied hue,

And I do love the browning plain;

And I do love each scene to view,

That’s mark’d with beauties of her reign."

And so my favourite season begins to sweep in like those light breezes that nip at your ankles, and I cannot welcome it enough. I love the sun shining on my face, but I love it most when it's reflected through tones of red and gold. My perfect day is one where the sun is shining but the earth is cold and your shoes crunch under acorns. One where you can only just get away with wearing no tights, but you most certainly need a scarf and boots. The end of September, beginning of October are my up most favourite times of year....things start tasting of pumpkin, smelling of cinnamon and all I want to eat is hot soup with warm, crusty bread.

The fashion at this time of year is my favourite too, I've never been in to bright colours. I love dark, rich tones, tweed and fur, leather and emerald green. I would totally live out the rest of my life with just Spring and Autumn....maybe Winter, but not here; somewhere the snow means snow and not chaos.
