Seasonal Inspo

I've been saving a lot of inspiration lately, working at Topshop is difficult sometimes. You have to try and be as 'on trend' as possible, but mainly within Topshop trends. Super hard when you get an allowance of 6 items per three months and have to like pay for everything else at full price. So we all try and collect key pieces and then try and create outfits through inspiration and layering the same item in different ways....so time consuming at 7am.

So I thought I would share with you all my current inspiration and two completely different ends of the spectrum for spring summer, brights (especially orange) and grunge...obviously much darker. So we can't all look like Mira, she oozes style in absolutely everything she wears -everything! I mean look at her here, I don't know anyone who could rock a cobalt blue suit like that. Ever since seeing this image of her in that mustard mac, I have been lusting over it and everything in the colour yellow.

Orange is huge everywhere this season, when I first heard 'tangerine' was going to be big I thought ohh yuk, but it's remarkably versatile and doesn't drown out my skin tone like I thought it would. Hurrah. It also looks great with white and denim, super fresh. I positively adore the sixties style look below, epic.

Grunge is a hard one to master, not all of us pull it off like Effie and our awesome VM Clare at Toppers. But it's a look I can't elude, there is something I love about a band tee with a metallic skirt. I've just invested in this barginous one, and I intend to wear it with a casual white tee and a leather jacket just like the picture below. I'm also picking up these dungarees as uniform, they look amazing over a polka dot shirt or a cropped tee. No I will never look like Lua or Charlene, but alas they will grace my wardrobe anyway.

  1. i absolutely love the last look, although that may be due to my aversion to colour. regardless, i completely agree about the sixties style look even if i'm not brave enough to rock it myself!

  4. Oh gawwd that look with the mustard trench is pure perfection! I love the last outfit you've put together too. I used to hate working in retail - 20 hours a week styling up the same three pieces for three months... and it was for Wallis so they weren't even three pretty pieces xxx

  10. Oh my, I love Miroslava Duma so much, and all these items are perfect! Working in retail can be a nightmare, I had a horrible experience, but Top Shop sounds like it would be more fun. xx

  11. Love all of these! That second photo is perfection - hair, make-up, skirt, LOVE! I love the idea of grunge and considering I spent my youth being called a 'grunger' you'd think I'd naturally flock to this style but I'm not sure I can pull it off! You'd look amazing in that tangerine midi dress xo
